Dear Friends,

So this is where it all begins.

The major legal announcement. The media. The flood of emails and phone calls. Welcoming the press…dodging the press. Early morning visits to the TV Studios, talking to the print media, the radio personalities. The letters of encouragement and as was expected the criticism as well from those poor souls who refuse to listen to our message of warnings.

Struggling to find the time at the end of the day to sort through all the numerous responses is a daunting task but one I now look forward to every night. Thank you world for restoring our faith in human kind. Please know that your daily love and words of comfort I take with me each day to share with my beautiful Sandy at her hospital bedside. Her eyes light up with joy when she listens to each email. She has told me that it feels great to know that her tragedy may just make the difference in putting a stop to future pain and suffering. That her message is finally getting out there.

Thankfully the overwhelming response has been a tremendous show of support. People are lining up and voicing their approval of exposing upper neck manipulation for what it is. Namely, “an unnecessary and dangerous procedure which is needlessly injuring otherwise healthy young men and women”. Particularly young otherwise healthy women. 

Sandy and I have taken on the position of spokesperson and have spearheaded this cause. Not because we wanted to. Lord knows we have enough on our plates just dealing with her 24 hour care! But because we must in good conscience do our part to put a stop to this barbaric and unscientific practice of twisting necks. Sandy is insistent about this and I as her husband fully support her decision to do what we can to endeavor the effort.

As I mentioned on Canada AM, it would have been very easy for us to just simply proceed with our own lawsuit. We were told that our case wouldn’t take long to resolve given all the facts. To tackle a class action proceeding is a costly and tedious venture at best and it involves a horrendous amount of research, energy and time. All of which are limited resources these days….for everyone. 

Thankfully, we were able to find a wonderful law firm, Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP, who willingly decided to take this on. Philip Tinkler and Daryl Wilson have dedicated an enormous amount of time to this file. They will leave no stone left unturned. They are committed to taking this all the way to the Supreme Court if necessary. They will not give up. This is personal now.
